This 5th edition was a forum for encounters between productions from the United States, Canada, Australia, the Czech Republic, England, Germany and of course Vietnam. It brought together poetic, intimate, socially engaged and mostly female visions - bearing witness to the stories of the Vietnamese diaspora through fiction, documentary, animation, drama and comedy.

Panel discussions allowed for immersion into the creative and thought processes of Paris by Night and Stinkfrucht, whose teams, both from Germany, emphasized the strength of the bonds that are forged in film schools. The Unseen River's chief film editor, Julie Béziau, shed light on the narrative process in editing, and Vietnamese producer Trân Phương Thảo took us through the making of the impactful documentary Children of the Mist.
