An old building. A shadow. A little boy climbs the stairs to the terrace to get back to his secret haven, where his imagination can travel through time, to his future and to people he doesn't know. His mind wanders and discovers itself, to perhaps reach what he will be tomorrow.
An Tôn That is a Vietnamese composer born in Paris who has composed extensively for the stage, especially contemporary dance, and notably with Japanese choreographer Jo Kanamori, as well as Taiwanese young prodigy Huang Yi. He has also written scores for the cinema - Tsai Ming Liang's The Hole (2011) and Ash Mayfair's The Third Wife (2018). Under the pseudonym Aaken, he has released several albums, including Circlesong (2005), Hyperbody (2010) and has performed at the Café de la Danse and La Bellevilloise. In 2013, he was commissioned by the Berlin Symphony Orchestra to write The Legend of Thánh Gióng, a piece for àn bu. With a group of artist friends, in 2015 he launched [FEEL] in/out, an art festival in Saigon that aims to showcase young Vietnamese artists from diverse backgrounds, while allowing them to collaborate together.
