Minh lives in a village where every child but him is born with a tree on their heads. On graduation day, students who have turned 18 will get their tree cut to signify adulthood. Problems arise when Minh's sister decides to keep hers.



A self-taught filmmaker, Minh Thy Phạm Hoàng, started making films at the age of 20, and she now works as an independent filmmaker. Her first short film The Graduation of Edison was selected for the 2019 Singapore International Film Festival. Minh Thy won an award from CJ Cultural Foundation to make the short film Live In Cloud-Cuckoo Land co-directed with Vu Minh Nghia, which was selected at the 2020 Venice Film Festival and screened at the 4th edition of Ici Vietnam Festival Cinema in 2021.
