NHU MÔT DÒNG SÔNG (FLOWING HOME)
Sandra Desmazières | 2021 | France | 15’ | Animation

Two sisters grow up in Vietnam during the war and are separated by the aftermath of the conflict between the North and the South. After the fall of Saigon in 1975, Thao, the youngest, must flee Vietnam by boat to Malaisia with their uncle. Sao Maï, barely older, stays with her parents, hoping to join her soon. But their separation will last nearly twenty years, during which their epistolary relationship will be their only link and an outlet for their solitude. Telling each other about their daily life, their memories, the war and its ghosts, they narrate their journey in hope of a reunion.
