In the early 1960’s, Loan, a young Vietnamese woman, and Pierre, her Eurasian husband, are relocated to a village in Auvergne, under a resettlement program for French nationals from Indochina. Loan believes that the situation is only temporary and that she will return soon to Vietnam.
Stephane Ly-Cuong is a screenwriter, director and producer. He studied cinema at Paris VIII, Brooklyn College and La Fémis. He has written and directed several musical shows, including Cabaret Jaune Citron and 24 heures de la vie d'une femme. He also directs short films including Spring Leaves, with Frédéric Chau - selected at the 1st edition of Ici Vietnam Festival Cinéma in 2018 - and Jasmine Lane, with Linh-Dan Pham. Of Vietnamese origin, he explores in his projects the subject of French-Vietnamese identity. Since 2017, he is involved in the PSE (Pour un Sourire d'Enfant) school in Phnom Penh to teach screenwriting techniques to film students.
